Thank you for your bug report, could you add your .xsession-errors to the bug and your Xorg.0.log? It likely either the xorg server or the session segfaulting

Changed in gnome-session (Ubuntu):
importance: Undecided → Low
status: New → Incomplete

thank, there is no crash in those though, can you add Xorg.0.log.old as well? would be better to add those after getting the issue so they are the versions which list the bug

I can confirm this as well. When it's stable, it runs for days. Other times, it restarts within minutes of booting up

I'd be happy to provide any more information that might be required to take this bug out of the "Incomplete" state and leading to an eventual fix.

could you add the Xorg.0.log and Xorg.0.log.old just after getting the issue?

I have same thing. I can't really trace it. Other than watching YouTube on Chrome, I think.

I am facing the same problem. I upgraded from 10.10 to 11.04, since last few weeks facing this problem. In ubuntuforums.org they say its a kernel issue (2.6.38.8). Please help, the problem is as explained in the start note of the bug.
