wrong startup order of applications

Bug Description

When starting gnome (edgy) the applications are started in the wrong order. Especialy the notification area is much to late available, causing different effects:
- kadu (KDE gadu-gadu IM client) doesn't start in the tray, but shows its icon on the desktop
- gaim starts in window mode and not minimized as configured
- different notifies (network manager, power manager, updates) are shown at various inconsistent places / corners

The session manager (system -> sessions) has no obvious function to reorder the starting the applications. I assume they are saved and started automatically.
