Bug Description
I am using an iMac G3 because that's the only machine I have available to me. I'm currently on my fourteenth installation of Ubuntu Linux, and every time I install it, the installation goes fine, but when I log in, the desktop is a dark maroon field that is absolutely blank, no menus, no icons, just the background and the mouse which I can move around just fine.
Apparently, the default "right click" combination refuses to work, so I resort to accessing command-line terminal 1.
I've done everything the forums and several other linux-savvy persona have suggested doing, and absolutely nothing works for me. The desktop remains dark maroon showing nothing but the mouse. Some people think it's the xserver-xorg and I personally think they're right, but no combination of reconfiguring changes ANYTHING.
