shutdown dialog very slow

Bug Description

hardy alpha 4 , if x has been shutdown and restarted during a session when going to system>quit it takes more than 1 minute to display the shutdown dialog , during this time the desktop is inactive mouse moves but icons and menu's do not recieve clicks keyboard input is not recieved .after dialog is displayed shutdown is normal.

it also does this some times when x has not been restarted , while keyboard and mouse actions are not recieved displays on destop ( conky and screenlets )are being updated.
