wayland, periodic temporary blackouts

Bug Description

Seemingly randomly I have blackouts lasting for about a second each.

Intel drivers, etc.

Seems to be related to loading a modal dialogue for the first time, or changing to an xwayland window that's been unused for a while. (But not always, could be random bias)

Seems to be repeatable by opening Terminator, moving the mouse a little bit then pressing escape
