Gnome shutdown dialog takes a long time to show up

Bug Description

When I go to System->Quit it takes about 20-30 seconds before the shutdown dialog pops up.
Once it pops up I can select shutdown and everything works like it should.

I'm not really sure where to go looking for this problem.
CPU usage is normal and there is no disk activity.
Everything in gnome is frozen while I wait for the dialog. Once the dialog pops up, the screen surrounding the dialog fades out a bit.

Hi there
I can't really reproduce this, the dialog take about 2-3 seconds here while on heavy load, could you please try to reproduce this with a new account?.

Thanks in advance

I reported this almost 5 months ago. I got tired of this annoying issue and eventually reinstalled 7.10 on my laptop. That fixed it.
It wasn't anything to do with a heavy load though--the cpufreq applet showed things were scaled back to 25%
