(Ignore the HUD anoyance.)
Make a screenshot with alt+print, name the screenshot 'test-1' and save it to a folder.
Make another screenshot with alt+print, same title and save it to the same folder.
There will be no dialog if you want to replace the existing file, it just closes after selecting the same folder.
Verify the image didn't get overwritten, it's still the first one.
Output from .xsession-errors:
** WARNING **: Unable to use GNOME Shell's builtin screenshot interface, resorting to fallback X11. Error: GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: The name org.gnome.Shell was not provided by any .service files

There will be no dialog if you want to replace the existing file, it just closes after selecting the same folder.
Verify the image didn't get overwritten, it's still the first one, also the timestamp didn't change.
The procedure via terminal will display a dialog which is asking if you want to overwrite the existing file and it will in fact replace the file.
~$ gnome-screenshot -w -i --delay=5
