Using CTRL+SHIFT+(left/right cursor) starts an endless loop of taking screenshots

Bug Description

I'm not 100% sure gnome-screenshot is the culprit here, since this problem exists both in Ubuntu 14.04 and in Lubuntu 14.04 with their respective default apps.

The problem: Whenever I select text word by word using CTRL+SHIFT + the cursor keys, for example right in this bug report, some weird chain of events is triggered which starts an endless loop of the screenshot utility du jour (depending on the desktop that is running) taking screenshots and filling up my $HOME directory.

In Ubuntu 14.04, this has the effect of the mouse cursor becoming a crosshair and the user being able to select a region. In Lubuntu 14.04 this only takes a screenshot and puts it into $HOME. In both cases, there are so many screenshot processe spawned that the machine becomes unresponsive and the session has to be killed (in my last case, 607 within ten seconds).

Where are these processes spawned and why? The machine was installed with Ubuntu 14.04 default and then `apt install lubuntu-desktop` was used to change the desktop, both into clean user environments. I do not have this problem at all on another Ubuntu 14.04 machine and never had it in 12.04.

Thanks for any help!
