gnome-screenshot produces only black .png

I am on Ubuntu12.10 Quantal 64bit.

The gnome-screenshot tool only produces black .png as output. Independent of chooseing part of screen of fullscreen or actual window.

are you running ubuntu in virtualbox? if so, this should probably be merged into

gnome-screenshot produces black screenshot with only the mouse pointer visible

Indeed I run it in virtualbox.

I have not pointed that out, because on development of Ubuntu12.04 Precise it was not a problem.

When you are willing to work on this intensive, close mine report as duplicate. When you do not want to work on the code yourself you maybe close yours as duplicate of mine(bug heat- older one).

I have just retested with unity 2d and deqaktivated 2d support in virtualbox.

The screenshot works normal in this configuration(Virtualbox4.1.12 on Ubuntu12.04 64bit host).

I'll merge this one into the other, not because I am going to work on it so hard, but because I think more precise information has been collected there.

Bug heat will add up, but I do not think that is the important part -- few bugs are fixed because of their heat -- the important part is to have one central place of discussion.
