Cannot return from sleep; screen goes to sleep, no input wakes computer up.

I have no screen saver sent for my user account, but after the OS goes to sleep from inactivity, there has been a 2/3 chance that I cannot wake it up. This forces me to hold the power button of my computer, forcing a shutdown.

I have tried pressing everything on my keyboard, mouse, tower, etc. but with no prevail.
