Screensaver does not function if disabled then re-enabled

Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-screensaver

If I disable the screen saver then re-enable it , it dims slowly until the point when the screen saver is suppose to start then the monitor lights back up to the desktop. Restarting the computer fixes this.
