Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager

gnome-screensaver (v2.24.0-0ubuntu6) does not allow configuration of screensaver properties.

I am using Jaunty (9.04), the same is true in Karmic, however.

Lots of screensavers need to be configured, however the author of gnome-screensaver refuses to include this required functionality. It seems this is some kind of moral or religious objection to giving users options.

Ubuntu should apply leverage to Gnome to get someone else to take over this package and fix it, or should remove gnome-screensaver from the release.
