gnome-screensaver does not detect activity on second monitor

Binary package hint: gnome-screensaver

When using two displays without Xinerama, gnome-screensaver detects activity on the primary display, :0, but not on the second display, :1. Thus, in the middle of typing on :1 the screensaver will kick in. This has been reported to Gnome as http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=427905 but response has been slow (about a year with little apparent progress). Getting a patch out for 8.10 to fix this would greatly reduce the frustration of many people in our office.
