Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-screensaver

When I start the screensaver the password box immediately shows up rather than the screensaver starting.
OS: Intrepid Ibex beta 1 (I believe this happened on Hardy as well)
Package version: 2.24.0-0ubuntu1
This happens after simply clicking on the "lock" icon or using the shortcut ctrl+alt+L

If you set the screensver tonot lock the screen, does the screen saver fail to start? This looks like its the same problem as #271229 and #278112.
