Screensavers from rss-glx not showing up in xscreensaver dialog

None of the screensavers from this package show up anymore in the xscreensaver
dialog. This is on an up-to-date breezy. More users have reported this on the
forums.

Please make them come back... :-)

Either running /usr/bin/rss-glx_install.pl or copying an old (hoary)
.xscreensaver file to your home directory seems to fix this problem.

I think the problem is in the xscreensaver source in the following file:
xscreensaver-4.21/driver/XScreenSaver.ad.in they are not listed in it anymore...

Tried to make a patch for it to fix it. First time ever I do such a thing, so
don't know if I did it right or if it is useful at all..??

This is not a regression; it seems this package has never registered its
screensavers properly. this can wait until after 5.10.

It is a regression, for hoary it worked fine without any effort. What I did was
just look at the difference between the hoary and the breezy source files.

So is a fix still planned for dapper? They don't show up in gnome-screensaver either.

Gnome-Screensaver doesn't show these screensavers either. So far, gnome-screensaver seems to be a terrible package in general, but this is above and beyond icky.

i simply didnt come around to add the appropriate .desktop files for the rss-glx hacks yet that are needed to make them available in gnome-screensaver, expect that to happen before feb 23rd

the fix is contained in rss-glx 0.8.0-1ubuntu4, please update to this version
