Bug Description

It used to be possible to play a sound file using the following Python code:

import gnome
gnome.sound_init("localhost")
gnome.sound_play("sound.wav")

However, this no longer seems to play any sound on Gutsy 20071016.1.

Using your code I have the same problem. Also, even if the filename given to the play_sound function is invalid no exception is raised.

Same here in gutsy release
