Shut down doesn't prevent suspend on lid close

Bug Description

Even if "suspend on lid close" is selected, the computer should finish shutting down if the shut down process is started before the lid is closed. However, that's not the case currently in Oneiric under Unity. When the computer starts shutting down before I close the lid, the computer suspends instead, then finishes shutting down after I wake it up from suspend.

(Don't know if this is the right package.)

I have the same problem, first in Ubuntu 11.10 and now 12.04. On earlier versions this problem did not exist (at least <=10.10, I don't remember did I have 11.04 installed).

Running Ubuntu on IBM X40.
