Binary package hint: unity

15 to 20 minutes after increasing the brightness, the brightness automatically decreases to something that is quite difficult to read the screen. this happened at least 3 times in the last hour.

am using 11.04 on trial basis on a toshiba nb305 netbook.

i logged onto the netbook again and noticed that the luminosity is way brighter than before at the same setting.

i appears that brightness is not consistent and changes at the same setting.

Installed 11.04 on the Toshiba netbook with all the updates. Same problem with brightness occurs.

Additionally, the screen chronically flickers with large bands of black on the bottom half of the screen and ocassionally, the entire screen flickers.
