2011-01-30 04:52:42 thesubaru555 description Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager If I let the system on the login screen after booting my system, it turn in sleep mode after a really short amount of time (4-5 seconds). It's possible (if you are fast enough) to choose your account and enter your password, but if you try to login, a window will pop-up, saying that "Power Manager don't respond". After that, the system turn in sleep mode. I'm able to exit the sleep mode, i can choose my account, enter password, and my desktop start with no problem. Sometimes, mouse pointer is missing (it's seem to be random). I disabled power manager in system->preferences->startup applications (not sure exactly if the name is right, in French it's: Système->Préférences->Applications au démarrage), but it start ever if it's disable. I installed "boot-up manager", disabled all power manager program (acpid, acpi-support, apmd, laptop-mode), but the power manager still start on booting. I added the command "apci=off" in menu.lst (in grub folder), but the power manager still start ! I can't find a other way to get a temporary fix. I'm running Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid) with Kernel 2.6.32-28-generic and Gnome 2.30.2, on a old Toshiba P30 laptop with no battery (i use the AC adapter).
