Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager

Laptop: HP Pavilion dv3505ea

When booting without an AC adapter plugged in, the applet reports the battery is fully charged until the battery eventually dies without giving any notifications. However, in statistics the battery percentage does decrease.

I expect the laptop to gracefully shut down, giving some warning beforehand.

This behaviour is not seen if an AC adapter is subsequently plugged in and removed, or if booting with an AC adapter.
The new behaviour operates as expected (notifications work and graceful shutdown).

apport-gnome-power-manager-boot.txt - status after boot without AC
apport-gnome-power-manager-AC.txt - status after applying AC
apport-gnome-power-manager-unplug.txt - status after removal of AC
