Bug Description
It would be nice if, when one put a laptop (or desktop, come to think of it) into suspend-to-RAM, the kernel did all of the preparation for suspend-to-disk as well. That way, if the batteries die before the computer is reactivated, it'll just take a bit longer to restart (because it has to come back from suspend-to-disk) instead of losing state.
Obviously this is only useful if both suspend modes work.

Thanks for your report. Your idea might get more attention and have
the possibility of being implemented if you would submit a
specification for this.
You should first check whether it already exists at the Ubuntu specs /launchpad. net/distros/ ubuntu/ +specs) in Launchpad. If suggestions. Otherwise you can start writing a spec /wiki.ubuntu. com/FeatureSpec ifications.
