I can't set brightness neither on power management, brightness applet or Fn+ F6 F7 on My Toshiba satellite a300 laptop and fans always working one speed (that speed is what bios set during boot)
My system:
ubuntu 10.04
Kernel Linux 2.6.32.24
Gnome 2.30.2
