I can set the screen brightness high and low with the function keys but not with the window Power Management Prefernces (tab On AC Power).

Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager

It makes no difference on AC power or Battery. When I start up the laptop the screen brightness is always HIGH.
It was perfect working in Ubuntu 9.10.

@ jatin You need not send another bug report if it is the same problem as mentioned above. You just need to change the status of this bug from 'new' to 'confirmed'.
