On an Acer Travelmate 5720 with intel chipset, graphic card and processor, the computer does not implement power saving scripts (pm-utils) and screen brightness dim (gnome-
It does implement all the above when resuming from suspend or hybernate, and also when going from battery to ac (plugging the cable) if previously it was set on battery mode.
Otherwise gnome-power-manager recognize the battery, the charge, the fact that the cable has being unplugged and all of that, icon changes normally.
