Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager

On an Acer Travelmate 5720 with intel chipset, graphic card and processor, the computer does not implement power saving scripts (pm-utils) and screen brightness dim (gnome-power-manager) when going from ac to battery power. Literally unplugging the ac cable.

It does implement all the above when resuming from suspend or hybernate, and also when going from battery to ac (plugging the cable) if previously it was set on battery mode.

Otherwise gnome-power-manager recognize the battery, the charge, the fact that the cable has being unplugged and all of that, icon changes normally.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. A new version of GNOME Power Manager is available on Maverick and we are wondering if this bug is still an issue for you with that version? Could you please test and comment back? Thanks in advance.
