Testing Karmic alpha 4 I note that every so often my screen goes blank (black, no backlight), which can be woken up with a touchpad motion. I suspect it has something to do with Power Management Preferences->On Battery Power->Put display to sleep when inactive for: 10 Minutes
This is on a Sony Vaio SZ650 with an Intel GM 965 graphics adapter.
