Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager

Hardware: Lenovo Thinkpad x200s
System: Ubuntu 9.10, newest updates
Package: gnome-power-manager 2.27.5-0ubuntu1
Setup: Option "When on battery power -> reduce backlight brightness" unchecked. Option "When on battery power -> dim display when idle" is checked.

Expected: when the preferences dialog of the gnome-power-manager is opened by right clicking the icon on the panel, I do not expect the display brightness to be reduced from the currently selected level.

What happens: when the preferences dialog is opened, the display brightness reduces to roughly 25%. This happens only if the option "When on battery power -> dim display when idle" is checked.
