Bug Description
Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager
Battery fully charged. Use laptop on battery power. Gnome-Power-Manager (GPM) will initially show that there is 2hrs+ remaining.
Within 30mins, actual timing appears random, GPM will suddenly believe that the battery has discharged and shut down laptop.
Reconnecting power supply initially indicates that the battery is empty and it will take hours to recharge. It will then suddenly believe that the battery is charged 100%.
Problem is consistently repeated over past 5 days since installing Karmic. Previously running Arch+KDEmod with no problems (2hrs+ battery life). Previous versions of Ubuntu running on same machine had no problems.
Screenshot of power history attached.
Using Ubuntu Karmic A2 on Lenovo X61 laptop.

I do have a x61 too, use ubuntu since 8.04 (migrated to 8.10 and 9.04) and also have the same problem after upgrading to 9.10 rc. Even after the final 9.10 update the problem still exists.
The battery works fine under windows.
Any help would really be appreciated.
