[dapper] LCD is not put to sleep

although I've set to put the display to sleep after 10 minutes of inactivity, it remains on!
anyway "xset dpms 0 0 600" works!

as paul told me I'm adding some info:

when laptop lid is closed: blank screen
(which works if I wait at least 10 - 15 seconds)

If you wait the time for gnome-screensaver *plus* the time specified in gnome-power-preferences does it blank?

yes!!! you find it! you have to sum the 2 values. is that a bug?
and also I havo to ask you a question that came to me while I was triyng this stuff...
if I want to unlock the screensaver, pressint the right or left mouse button is no enought, I have mo move the pointer! is that an wanted behaviuor or should I file a bug??

No, it's something we have to document or make more clear somehow. Any ideas welcome.
