Bug Description

Using dapper current;

The laptop is a Compaq Presario 2190CA, AMD AthlonXP.

$ sudo dmidecode -s system-manufacturer
Hewlett-Packard
$ sudo dmidecode -s system-product-name
Presario 2100 (DM731A)
$ sudo dmidecode -s system-version
KAM1.52

When I press the 'i' key on my laptop two things happen:
1. The battery icon (gnome-power-manager) shows information regarding its status.
2. Firefox opens.

When I try and assign this key using the Keyboard Shortcuts it displays "XF86Shop" as it's keycode.

This is fairly confusing as I have no apparent way of disabling the battery indication regardless of where I set the 'i' key in keyboard preferences.

Hello,

I have the same problem on my desktop pc. I have a generic keyboard model with code: SK-720H.

When I press the WWW button it opens Firefox but also shows the Power Information pop up saying 'Computer is running on AC power'. It only disappears after something like 15 seconds or when I click on it.

Trying to assign the key to a different function doesn't help either.

Hope this helps.

Hey, I never thought to check my desktop keyboard.

My logitech iTouch's "Home" key does the same. Launches firefox and shows the useless 'running on AC' popup.

'gnome-power-manger' picked a "random key code" for testing purposes as there was no KEY_BATTERY assigned in the kernel yet.

Unfortunately the "random key code" just happened to be KEY_WWW. This is waiting for a sync/patch of g-p-m to fix it...
