Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager

This may or may not be related to bug 349650.

GPM seems to be spamming me about the low battery life left in my batteries. One battery is claimed to have about 5 mins left, but the other has apparently got 40 mins. GPM wants to give me battery low warnings (see attached screenshots - shortly when i get off 3g) even thought if you take into account the larger battery, I'm fine.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the development release - Karmic Koala. It would help us greatly if you could test with it so we can work on getting it fixed in the next release of Ubuntu. You can find out more about the development release at http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/. Thanks again and we appreciate your help.

I am now running karmic, and do still get the problem. One battery is low, the other has lots of juice left, yet gpm spams me with notifications telling me my battery is low.

Thanks. While in Karmic, can you do the following:

1)With the the laptop plugged in, could you please attach the resulting log file of: /usr/share/gnome-power-manager/gnome-power-bugreport &> gpm-on-AC.log to the report?

2) with the laptop unplugged, could you attach the resulting log file of: /usr/share/gnome-power-manager/gnome-power-bugreport &> gpm-on-batteries.log to the report?
