2009-02-03 22:48:54 Navado description Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager $ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 8.10 Release: 8.10 ------------------------------------- Power Manager 2.24.0 ------------------------------------- Hardware: IBM ThinkPad R40 ------------------------------------- I am using two batteries with the laptop - one internal and one additional that plugs into CD-ROM bay. While running on battery power the additional battery discharges first (it's OK) but when it reaches critical low level the power manager hibernates the computer (correct action on low battery, also ok) instead of switching to the second battery (here is the problem, very annoying). Also the time remaining is mostly correct while running on one battery (any one) but totally wrong when two of them installed. i.e. while running on the additional battery the time remaining indicator shows correct time for one battery but not overall time remaining. If the second battery removed time for the internal battery shown correctly, but if the second battery installed the remaining time shows some value that represents absolutely nothing. another issue, that if second battery installed before the main while running on AC adapter the additional battery is not recognized with power manager and therefore not charged.
