Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager

In order to collect information about another gnome power manager problem I tried to run the gnome-power-bugreport.sh command, but it failed with syntax errors, specifically "Badly placed ()'s.". This is due to the fact that my default shell is tcsh and the script is missing a shebang (#! line) telling the system that this is an sh script.

I am running Hardy 8.04 on an IBM T43 ThinkPad. I have gnome-power-manager version 2.22.1-1ubuntu4.

Please add "#!/bin/sh" to the top of this file.

This has been fixed in gnome-power-manager in Intrepid:

gnome-power-manager (2.23.1-0ubuntu1) intrepid; urgency=low

  * 13_bugreport_bin_sh.patch, adding a "#!/bin/sh" to the top of
    gnome-power-bugreport.sh so that it is more specific about how it
    executes. LP #238546
