Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the development release - Hardy Heron. It would help us greatly if you could test with it so we can work on getting it fixed in the next release of Ubuntu. You can find out more about the development release at http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/ . Thanks again and we appreciate your help.

Excuse me Pedro, but the issue is the same I have in Hardy, so I re-open the bug as what I commented on 2008-09-21 was right.
However I will test it on a Intrepid live CD to see if it was fixed or not in next stable release.

I tested the issue on Intrepid Live CD and the issue is present in the way in which the message "battery is charged" is never displayed.
By default the notification icon is only displayed when charging and discharing process runs, so when the battery is fully charged the icon disappears and no message "battery is charged" is shown.
If you enable the permanently displaying of notification icon, when the battery is fully charged (you realize this moving the mouse pointer over the icon) the icon doesn't change its status (it seems that the charging process isn't terminated) and no message is displayed.

I forgot to say that the message isn't displayed, in Intrepid live, not even if you unplug the power.

Your Ubuntu version is EOL on the Desktop. Can you still reproduce this problem with a supported Ubuntu version? Thank you!
