Battery status is incorrect

Bug Description
The battery status in the upper right hand corner of Ubuntu 13.10 is showing 90% when I enabled show percentage in menu bar. The computer is plugged in as it is a laptop. The hardware indicator for the battery says it is charged. When I click on the battery icon in the menu bar it says the laptop battery is charged. When I look at the power statistics it says that the battery is charged and the current percentage is 99%.
