Bug Description

I have a Lenovo ThinkPad T61 with the Nvidia graphics card and Intel wifi. I am running 64-bit Feisty with the 2.6.22-7 kernel backported from Gutsy (necessary for the Intel wireless).

If I am running the laptop on AC power, and I un-plug it then plug it in again, for example to move to a different room, the little dialog box that shows the current brightness setting fails to go away after I plug the AC power back in.

This is one of the symptoms I have in bug 123548.
If you try to drop the brightness one step, does it go away? Open a terminal window and run:
tail -f /var/log/kern.log

You might see lots of messages like this scrolling by:
Jul 24 21:17:41 {hostname} kernel: [13804.424000] set_level status: 0

If this is the case, you might want to mark this bug as a duplicate of bug 123548.
