Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager

I have my settings to turn off the screen when the lid is closed, but the screen remains on when the lid is closed. It worked fine with Edgy, but not Fiesty.

Cheers

Hi,

I am having this problem intermittently on my Dell D600 as well. It also worked fine in Edgy. I note that waking up the laptop works fine. It is just suspending it. The work around is to manually suspend it, but I miss the old way.

Thanks for working on these bugs!

Rob

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be reproducable with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the development release - Gutsy Gibbon. It would help us greatly if you could test with it so we can work on getting it fixed in the next release of Ubuntu. You can find out more about the development release at [WWW] http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/ . Thanks again and we appreciate your help.

Same bug with Gutsy for me.

Laptop: Acer TravelMate 4504LMi
Kernel: Linux 2.6.22-14-generic #1 SMP Sun Oct 14 23:05:12 GMT 2007 i686

In System -> Preferences -> Power Management, in "On AC Power", I set "Blank Screen" or "Suspend" when the laptop lid is closed.

However, when I close the laptop lid, I can see that the display is still on.

Do you need some additional data to analyze the problem ?
