Bug Description

If i drag&drop an application starter from the menu to my desktop, and then drag and drop it to a free place in the gnome-panel it is displayed as a normal application starter. Anyhow that starter is gone after a restart.

This also affects me. Slight difference though. I added a drawer to a panel. Then, as you can't drag items from a menu direct to a drawer (you should be able to!) I copied icons to the desktop. Then I dragged them from the desktop to the drawer. After rebooting, they were all gone.

I can reproduce this bug by starting the run dialog (alt+F2), typing in a command and dragging the icon to the panel. The launcher works up to the next reboot. I am really fond of this feature, because this speeds up populating the panel an a fresh install.

I believe this worked before, but i cant tell for sure.

ubuntu 10.04, fresh install, 2.6.32-22-generic

okay, probably this is not the same bug.
I just saw that the launchers dragged from the run dialog still exist in gconf (apps/panel/objects/), but their target is in /tmp

e.g. "/tmp/totem-1.desktop"

So it is clear that it wont be shown after reboot.
