Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

In Edgy, sometimes when dist-upgrading, gnome-panel freezes completely.

Not sure why yet, but this has happened three times.

Thanks for your bug. Could you install gnome-panel-dbg and get a backtrace next time that happens to you? What non-stock confiig applets do you use?

Yep. Will also strace during next dist-upgrade.

Applets present are: notification-area, gweather, netstatus (x2), cpufreq, battstat, multiload, clock, mixer, wncklet (x4), charpick, tomboy and trashapplet.

Matt Zimmerman (mdz) wrote :

I use multiload, workrave and weather. All of them continue to run and I can interact with them, but the menu, launchers, calendar, window list and pager are all missing

The bug is not really useful without backtrace, feel free to reopen if you get the problem again and can get one
