Binary package hint: gnome-panel
The top panel of gnome-panel is set to auto-hide. The time on the clock is frozen to 11:23AM currently, despite the system time being correct.

Have to try to show the seconds? (go to preferences and then click the "show seconds" box). That is how I fixed mines.
