Thank you for reporting this to Ubuntu. It looks like the trouble is due to two applets not working properly (the black boxes with the red symbol inside), which appear to be the indicator- applet- session applet and something else (not sure what the one on the left is). Could you please let us know if clicking those icons has any effect?
