Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

I have a dual display setup with a top panel on each display. Today at 12:16 the clock on one of those panels stopped altogether. The other clock continued to update. On examination the stopped clock showed no locations. I added my location and it started working again. This is the second time that this has happened. The first time the locations still appeared below the calendar, and the time in the locations was accurate. The time shown in the panel was stopped, though. It wasn't just showing the wrong time zone. The whole time was off and didn't change for several hours. I think I had to log out and log back in to reset it.

With which version of Ubuntu are you seeing this Amanda? May you tell us a few easy steps in order to reproduce the issue? Thanks.

Steps to reproduce: I'm not sure. Set up a dual display and add a "top" panel to each display, each with a clock widget. Shut down, use computer with only one display. Shut down, restart in dual display. Maybe one clock will stop. Maybe not.

It doesn't happen every time.

I've resolved this by making sure there's only ever one calendar / clock widget visible.

I'm still getting occasional panel clock freezes without an apparent pattern.
