Bug Description

It is one of the major things that sticks out like a sore thumb in otherwise very nice desktop themes.

Here you go! Ideally, the "Show Desktop" button (which can be added to a panel by right-clicking the panel -> "Add to panel" -> "Show Desktop"), should have a transparent background, similar to other launcher icons, so that it conforms better to the user's theme.

I confirm this: show desktop icon is the only one icon that does not has transparent background when you choose background -> solid color -> style transparent in gnome-panel properties.
Looks very inconsistent with the others.

this is not a bug in the icon, but in the code of the applet

We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to review all reported bugs in a timely manner.

The upstream bug report was closed on 2020-11-06 as "RESOLVED OBSOLETE" as it has not seen any activity for some time (since 2011). I'm closing this bug report as it has also seen no activity since 2009.

If anyone still sees an issue when using GNOME Flashback in a currently maintained release of Ubuntu then please let us know so that the bug report can be re-opened and reported against the appropriate packages and/or projects.
