GNOME clock: No multiple time zones

If I run multiple instances of the gnome clock applet, I cannot set them to run different time zones. Both instances change timezones when either clock is changed.
For example, if I have two clock applets running, and I set one of them to EDT they will both change to EDT. If I set one of them to UTC they will both change to UTC. There is no way to set one clock to one time zone and one clock to another time zone.

Ubuntu 8.04.1
gnome-panel 1:2.22.2-0ubuntu1

Sorry, I did search but I didn't see anything for this bug. What is the bug number this is a duplicate of?

I don't find the number either know but I'm pretty sure it has been mentioned before in other bug, upstream might have decided to work on that and close the bug though

  I am having the same problem in 8.10,
gnome-panel version 1:2.24.1-0ubuntu2
gnome-applets version 2.24.1-0ubuntu1

  I looked around in launchpad and I could not find a duplicate of this bug, maybe this should be re-opened?. It seems like it should be a relatively easy fix.

I marked this as new because I am still having this problem in intrepid. There was a typo in my previous post I am using version 2.24.1-0ubuntu1 of gnome-applets.

Pending discovery of any duplicate of this bug on LP, I'm adding this to Wishlist since it is a feature request. Thank you for reporting it.

OK, I reported it as a bug because this feature was in gutsy. Hardy broke it, and intrepid did not fix it. Maybe there is some package thing going on, but I could do this in gutsy gibbon.

makito, it's possible that was a "feature" bug that existed before but was fixed. TBH, I don't know, but right now it's marked as "enhancement" upstream, so we'll leave it as Wishlist here for now.

I reported that as an "enhancment" because I didn't know about it being a feature some time time ago. I am subscribed to the upstream bug, so when they change it to a bug I will forward the change to this bug in launchpad.

I used to have a full day of week, month day, 12hr, etc clock in my own time zone, and then a second clock with just 24hr format utc time. At some point, this broke. Its really hand on unix systems to have quick access to UTC and its really frustrating to have such a simple feature broken.
