Date/time does not rotate properly with vertical panel

Bug Description

Text displayed for the date and time, as well as the CPU freq. monitor, and
perhaps other apps, does not rotate when on a vertical panel.

This is on a system running the latest Breezy updates.

     - Use authentication for calendar when needed
     Window List Applet
     - Make the window list looking better with non-default backgrounds
   * debian/patches/01_layout.patch:
     - updated.
   * debian/patches/03_paneltranslations.patch:
     - dropped, rosetta has these changes now.
   * debian/patches/11_panel_addto_dialog.patch:
     - update to fix a crasher when dropping a panel while the dialog is open,
       change by Emmanuel Cornet (GNOME: #316915).
   * debian/patches/12_autotools.patch:
     - updated.
