Bug Description
Binary package hint: gnome-panel
Ubuntu 8.04
Linux Kernel 2.6.24-15-generic
Laptop system with wireless networking
Package: Clock 2.22.0
Gnome Panel crashed after left clicking on World Clock Applet. World clock applet has 5 locations present: Hyderbad, India, Budapest, Hungary, London, UK, Trenton, NJ, USA, and Ft. Smith, AR, USA.
This seems to happen regularly after the system's initial bootup. Also, this seems to happen before the World Clock applet has loaded any weather information for the locations.
After the crash, Gnome Panel relaunches itself and the World clock and weather loads fully and works without issue. One other mention, I start networking manually on this system, so perhaps the weather function times out before any networking is established and thus causes the crash. Just a thought.
