Bug Description

Hi everyone.

Still working almost every day with this beauty of Ubuntu 8.04. Yesterday I found the following:

Before posting this note, I was checking Bug #179400 but still doubt if it applies or not.
As usual, I keep my Beta Hardy full patched.

In my case, I'm very happy with the new option to change the time format back and forth
from 24 to 12 (in Gutsy you had to change it manually). OK, there I go, click in the date,
change to 12 format, click and.... wow, nothing happens, the format stays in 24 as if it
were ignoring the Apply or Accept buttons. No error messages, no warnings, nothing.
It just stays as before.

Best Regards.

Turbo.

Thank you for report this bug.

I've test in Hardy and it work with locale en_US.UTF-8, but with es_ES.UTF-8 dont't work.
Can you write the output of command "locale".
Thanks.

Hi again.

Sorry it took me so long. I'm going to loose this PC where I test Hardy.... :-(

Ok, here it goes, this is what LOCALE gives:

pccom@pccomstock1:~$ locale
LANG=es_CO.UTF-8
LC_CTYPE="es_CO.UTF-8"
LC_NUMERIC="es_CO.UTF-8"
LC_TIME="es_CO.UTF-8"
LC_COLLATE="es_CO.UTF-8"
LC_MONETARY="es_CO.UTF-8"
LC_MESSAGES="es_CO.UTF-8"
LC_PAPER="es_CO.UTF-8"
LC_NAME="es_CO.UTF-8"
LC_ADDRESS="es_CO.UTF-8"
LC_TELEPHONE="es_CO.UTF-8"
LC_MEASUREMENT="es_CO.UTF-8"
LC_IDENTIFICATION="es_CO.UTF-8"
LC_ALL=

By the way, I just updated Hardy and the bug is still there.

Regards.

Turbo.

I've test with locales:

es_AR
es_BO
es_ES
es_CO
es_CL
and I think that don't work with any es_*.UTF8 locale.

Looking the key /apps/panel/applets/applet_0/prefs/format, it change to 12 and 24 h format.

version: Ubuntu 8.04
package: gnome-panel 1:2.22.0-0ubuntu3

Steps to reproduce:
- Login with any Spanish language.
- Open clock preferences and select '12 h format'

Result expected:
- The clock change to 12 hour format

Actual result:
- no change the format, still in 24 h

Changed in gnome-panel:
status: Incomplete → Confirmed
