Bug Description

When starting the machine and logging in for the first time, all is well.
Problem comes when logging out then in again. The Gnome desktop loads fine, but
gives me a little error message nonetheless :

" I have detected a panel already running, and will now exit".

No harm, the desktop loads normally, but I get this error everytime, screenshot
attached.

I'm having the same problem.

Also note that the gnome-session stuff is often going totally wrong. Last
desktop-startup I did it launched 12 xchat instances, 8 gnome-panel instances,
etcetera.

I cleared my session, saved it (gnome-session-save) and restarted. I still had 4
gnome-panel instances.

Clearly, there's something wrong with the gnome-session stuff.

This might explain the error-message about the gnome-panel

can you attach your ~/.gnome2/session file to the bug when that happens with a
description of what was opened when you registred the session?
