Bug Description

For the "Time and Date Settings" dialog, minutes in the "minutes" section that are less than 10 are shown as "5" rather than "05". Typically 24-hour time is shown with zero-padding.

In other words, it just looks funny.

Hi Evan,

thanks for reporting this bug and thus helping to make ubuntu better.
However, on my installation of an up-to-date hardy alpha 5, this issue does NOT occur. Time is shown correctly.

Could you please provide some further information about the version of you system?

Marking as Incomplete until further information arrives

I can confirm this issue on Hardy alpha 5. The dialog has changed between Gutsy and Hardy, but the issue is still there (see screenshot).

Data,

did you do that in time-admin? It happened to me too.

Yeah, sorry, somehow I didn't realize that what was meant was the missing leading zero in the ENTRY FIELDS. (As time shows correctly in the text above the entry fields).
So, sorry again, for misunderstanding your initial bugreport.

By the way it happens both in the "Adjust Date & Time" window you get via the clock panel applet and in time-admin.

As I said, this bug occurs in both time dialogues:

The "Time & Date"-Dialogue you get via System -> Administration -> Time and Date (time-admin)
I believe this is part of the package gnome-system-tools

The "Adjust Date & Time" Dialogue you get via right click on the clock applet -> Adjust Date & Time.
I believe this is part of the package gnome-panel.
(The screenshot from Phil Sing above is from this one.)

So setting this bug to "also affects: gnome-panel"

that's an upstream wishlist and should be sent to bugzilla.gnome.org, could you send the bug there?

I thought Launchpad had all kinds of fancy features for pushing bugs to upstream. Or: can't YOU do it?

launchpad doesn't automatically send bugs no, a bug triager could send the request upstream for you but you seem to have an opinion about what the behaviour should be so you would better argue there than somebody who finds the current way good enough
