Bug Description
After gnome starts up,all drawers in the panel are empty.
Product gnome 2.10 -- latest package from hoary
Component: gnome-panel 2.10 -- also latest package from hoary
Reproducible: I can reproduce the bug on two machines running
hoary with universe and multiverse everytime I start up gnome.
Workaround: I can work around this error by killing the
gnome-settings-
the communication of the gnome-panel and the gnome-settings-
If someone tells me how to take a deeper look inside that relationship
I could provide some further data to track that bug down.
My drawers only contain launchers from the menu and some custom launchers.
On startup all launchers inside the drawers are not displayed, though they are
still present in some internal structure. Though the drawers are empty I can add
new launchers to the drawer resulting in the old launchers not being displayed
and the new launchers not being displayed.
Before I found the workaround, I experienced some situations where the drawers
suddenly displayed all launchers (old and new). killing the panels manually is
no workaround for this problem, so I suppose the error is located in the panel.
