Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

I clicked on the date/time applet in gnome-pannel to view the calendar for the current month and gnome-pannel crashed. I have Evolution configured with a calendar from the Zimbra plugin though the crash happens regardless of having Evolution open and having the Zimbra calendar active.

Experienced same crash - when clicking the GNOME time/date bar.

Solved by uninstalling Python-dateutil pack.

I experience the same crash. *Everytime* I click the GNOME time/date bar, gnome panel crashes. This means, i cannot use starters or the menu anymore, but for example the music applet still reacts. killall gnome-panel restores the panel.

I am using Evolution with google calendar.

PS: It seems like I don't have python/dateutil installed:

Actually, this is known as bug #194505 . Deactivating Google Calendar makes the panel not crash anymore.

Yep I noticed the crash when trying to launch the applet only after I had set up a couple of Google Calendars in Evolution (a new functionality which is already well bugged).

Same here on Hardy 8.04.1.

After I added Google Calendar as my default calendar for Evolution, I cannot click on the calendar applet anymore -- without crashing gnome-panel.

killall gnome-panel fixes it.

I was hoping that a fix will be available by the time this bothered me, but... Here I am looking for a solution for this problem.
